Modern extension to a stone cottage

This light, airy, contemporary extension made a fantastic addition to a lovely cottage with far reaching views across the Somerset levels, it was designed to be an entertaining space and to join the house with the garden and the surrounding landscape. A sophisticated lighting and sound system was installed in order that scene lighting could be set at the touch of a button and music played throught the ground floor by built in Sonos speakers. As part of the same project we landscaped the garden, constructed a new oak framed garage and converted the existing garage into a games room / self contained annex.

This project was nominated for the LABC awards under the best extension category but unfortunately the awards didn’t take place due to the Corona virus restrictions.
