This project involved the extension and renovation of a large Victorian detached house. The extension involved taking down the entire gable end of the house and re-building it two meters further out, this enabled an en-suite bathroom to be fitted upstairs, the family bathroom enlarged, the dining room enlarged and a new entrance lobby to be built. All the bricks and window sills were saved and rebuilt using lime mortar to match the existing building. New timber sash windows were made to the same pattern as the existing windows and all the roof detailing was matched. Now it is finished you can hardly tell which part of the building is new.
This project was a finalist at the LABC awards in the best extension category 2018, we were also a finalist in the best local builder category this year.
