The brief

This listed barn on the top of the Mendip Hills had been unused for many years, with part of the structure having collapsed. The owners obtained permission to convert it into a four-bedroom home.

What we did

The building was repaired and extended using traditional stone, lime mortar and oak timbers, while the interior was insulated to modern standards. Underfloor heating was installed throughout, and a bespoke curved staircase was built on site.

The result

A warm, comfortable home full of original character, with the curved staircase adding a real focal point to the finished interior.

You make the decisions. We manage the rest.
