Stone Cottage Extension
The clients had owned this traditional Somerset cottage for a number of years and had already extended it twice, but felt the house still needed a larger glass extension to maximise space and make the most of the views over the Somerset Levels.
The brief
The clients had owned this traditional Somerset cottage for a number of years and had already extended it twice, but felt the house still needed a larger glass extension to maximise space and make the most of the views over the Somerset Levels.
What we did
We demolished the existing extension and constructed a large, predominantly steel-frame extension that brings open-plan living and extensive glazing to the property. Paving and landscaping link the new extension with the garden.
The result
The large glazed areas create the feeling of sitting in the garden throughout the year, with the comfort of underfloor heating also installed as part of the works.
